Many would call their life an adventure or they might intend to paint a false bravado hoping to disclose the person that they really are, a sinner. So many times, I have desired to do what God has wanted me to and I often live with the fear, shame, and guilt of attempting to be good enough or to think my own desires can culminate such satisfaction that only He can bring to warm my heart. My soul is so thirsty at times and I'm sure you too can relate; yet, we are constantly being watched, interceded for, and being pursued by an Eternal Lover whom we cannot fully grasp.
The reason I desired to further expand to a blog was because, after much prayer and seeking, I saw we all struggle. Cliché as it may be, we all are too familiar and or at ease with knowing about God and knowing what He is capable of, but never actually seeking Him in the deepest things of us and our lives in an intimate, deep relationship with one who knows us beyond our own comprehension of ourselves. That's a personal love that can't be explained away because it is not confined to our humanistic depth of reality.
But, biblically speaking, I was reading 1 Timothy one day and was thinking upon the desires of many of my friends and the gifts God has imparted to them, and it was absolutely beautiful. Definitely something not to be kept back or to be suppressed. And so with that I desire to covey the image in 1 Timothy 4:10-16:
" 10That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.11 Command and teach these things. 12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. 13 Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. 14 Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you. 15 Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. 16 Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers."
I want more than anything for people to see how good God is, how much He loves them, and, if they will let Him lead, use them. God calls us not to neglect the gifts He has given because if we have been loved that much by this God of love, so should we share it with everyone with His heart. Unfortunately, we often delve into the pit fall that we were made for us and our self fulfillment, but what gain to we achieve accept non-existing satisfaction and death? It doesn't satisfy because in reality, it's unnatural. We were and are made for more than what we can ever muster up to be upon our own. Rather, we should seek who God has made us to be. That's why He made us. That's why He sent Jesus. That's why He desires to have a RELATIONSHIP with us.
Bottom line, be who God desires to make you to be as His word expresses.
Share your gifts He has anointed you with.
Love, Learn, Serve, and Praise.
